As Brexit reaches the end game Ireland shows no sign of slowing down in terms of Jobs on offer and new job announcements ,
This week nearly 1000 new jobs have arrived in various locations and in various sectors .
In Galway Genesys the Artificial Intelligence firm which is based in Silicon Valley and employs over 3000 people is to hire 200 new people in Galway at a new bespoke state of the art centre in Galway Ciy.
Waterford sees the expansion of the Bausch Health facility with 100 new jobs in it’s contact lens division .These new jobs will bring the head count of Baucsh Waterford to nearly 1500.
Grant Thornton the Financial Services firm announced that it will expand its employee numbers by an additional 400 over the next 2 years with applications currently open for Accountants and Non-Accountancy roles
The good news in the Grant Thornton announcement is that these position are not just in Dublin but across the country in Belfast,Galway,Limerick,Kildare and Cork.
Emirates is returning to Dublin to hire with 60 roles on offer for Cabin Crew .The airline is looking for both men and women for fill these new positions which have been created due to the continued growth of the airline.Cabin crew will be offered employment packages which include a variety of benefits such as tax-free income, free high standard shared accommodation in Dubai, free transport from work, medical and dental cover is included .
In Cork 70 new roles are on offer at a new facility in Blarney which is to be created by ICL Dover .ICL Dover is the global leader in flexible containment solutions for the pharmaceutical and biopharma industry. The company is expanding its Irish production footprint to meet new business requirements .
These exciting announcements come at a time when the number of job vacancies are up in 23 counties across Ireland .
Almost every county and major city experienced growth in job vacancies with Dublin seeing a 19% increase with Cork and Galway achieving a 5% increase and Limerick rising by 2%.

Sligo up 15%
Kilkenny up 10%
Meath up 40%
Wicklow up 38%
Carlow up 36%
Kildare up 25%
Laois up 22%
Louth up 20%
These numbers along with a unemployment level that is to drop to just above 4% in 2019 are starting to have a significant impact on both wage rates and productivity as Ireland is suffering an acute skills and labour shortage.
