{"id":1071,"date":"2017-04-18T09:52:57","date_gmt":"2017-04-18T09:52:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/project.blueberry.ie\/back4good\/cms\/?p=1071"},"modified":"2017-04-18T09:52:57","modified_gmt":"2017-04-18T09:52:57","slug":"one-third-irish-teachers-see-no-future-job","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/project.blueberry.ie\/back4good\/cms\/one-third-irish-teachers-see-no-future-job\/","title":{"rendered":"One third of Irish Teachers see no future in their job !"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Teachers Union of Ireland has warned that one-third of new entrants see no long term future in their \u00a0career in teaching .<\/p>\n<p>The TUI which represents over 16,000 teachers in post-primary education sad that a survey of new entrants found that over 30% believe that is is unlikely that they will be in their job in 10 years time .<\/p>\n<p>The survey also found that 81% of teachers said that \u00a0differentiated pay rates among staff have had a negative or very negative effect on morale in schools .<\/p>\n<p>More than 9 out it 10 teachers said that bureaucratic duties regularly deflect from their teaching and that their workload has increased significantly in recent years .<\/p>\n<p>TUI President Joanne Irwin told this weeks TUI conference that &#8221; These findings confirm that teachers have experienced a significant increase in workload in recent years .They also make it clear the deeply negative effects that differentiated, discriminatory pay rates are having on the morale of the profession &#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile Education Minister Richard Bruton has told schools to keep costs down and that schools that don&#8217;t keep costs to a mnimum will lose out in the state funding they receive to meet their day-to-day funding .<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Teachers Union of Ireland has warned that one-third of new entrants see no long term future in their \u00a0career in teaching .
